The holy-grail of natural E.D. treatment
History:
Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia), also known as long jack, has been used for centuries by Southeast Asian cultures to treat multiple illnesses as an herbal medicine. Tongkat Ali was first documented in “Descriptions of Malayan Plants” by Scottish Botanist William Jack.
Biology:
It grows approximately 30 feet high and produces an elliptical fruit that turns green to blackish red in color when ripening. E. longifolia generally doesn’t have branches instead, it has a crown of large leaves, each with 15-30 pairs of smaller leaflets. Though Eurycoma longifolia does bear fruit in 2-3 years, it is a slow-growing plant, taking around 25 years to reach maturity.
Potential Benefits:
May Increase Sex Drive: [1]
Tongkat Ali’s primary use in ayurvedic medicine has been stimulating sexual desire with its aphrodisiac effects. [2]
May Treat Erectile Dysfunction
There has been research that shows men who took 300 milligrams (mg) of Tongkat ali extract each day reported improvement in their erections compared to those who took a placebo. This was a short 12-week study. Many stated improvements in the frequency of erections and hardness during sexual activity. More research is needed to know for certain what the real effects of E. longifolia on male erections and its use as an appropriate treatment for erectile dysfunction (E.D.).
May Improve Male Fertility
Researchers suggest that Tongkat ali supplements may improve semen volume and semen motility. This could be an excellent alternative to testosterone replacement therapy. More study is needed to be sure.
